Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or just getting started, the scheme makes owning a quality bicycle more accessible than ever.

What Is the Cycle to Work Scheme?

The Cycle to Work Scheme is a government-backed initiative that allows employees to purchase a new bicycle and safety accessories tax-free—saving between 25% and 47% on the total cost.

The cost is spread over monthly instalments via your salary, making it both affordable and convenient.

How It Works

  1. Choose Your Bike
    Browse our wide range of bikes and accessories in-store or online at romanbicycles.co.uk. Select your ideal setup.

  2. Apply Through Your Employer
    Confirm which scheme your employer uses (e.g. Cyclescheme, Bike2Work, Green Commute Initiative etc.). Submit your quote or order to them.

  3. Receive Your Voucher
    Once approved, you’ll receive an e-certificate or voucher, which you bring or send to us.

  4. Collect or Receive Your Bike
    We’ll prepare your order for collection in-store or dispatch it directly to your door. Simple!

What’s Included?

Eligible items typically include:

  • Bicycles (commuter, road, gravel, e-bikes, hybrids, etc.)

  • Safety accessories: helmets, locks, lights, mudguards, panniers, etc.

  • Some schemes also allow high-value e-bikes or specialist models

Note: Clothing, GPS units, or performance upgrades may not be included, depending on your scheme’s rules.
